Penn State Talent Evaporating Rapidly

Penn State was rocked with probabation news from the NCAA a few weeks ago, but now the devastation to the Nittany Lions talent pool is really beginning to show with a domino effect of sorts.

A number of current top players have already moved on, and will play for other college programs this season, while a top-rated PSU recruiting class is already showing signs of falling apart at the seams, and if this trend continues, the PSU program will become so talent depleted they may wish they’d had the death penalty.

And from several sources in Happy Valley, they came a lot closer than many realized.

Players who’ve already bolted for the season include Silas Redd RB (USC), Kevin Haplea TE (Florida State), Justin Brown WR (Oklahoma), im Buckley S (North Carolina State), Anthony Fera K (Texas), Khairi Fortt LB (California), Ryan Nowicki OL (Illinois), Rob Bolden QB (LSU), and Jamil Pollard DT (Rutgers), but there may be more.

And to make it even worse for the long term health of the progam, 6’1 WR Will Fuller of Philadelphia (PA) Roman Catholic), who said he was 100% committed to the Nittany Lions recently, has now changed his mind and is heading to Notre Dame. Fuller may well be the tip of the recruiting iceberg that sinks the PSU ship for years to come, as the talent pool could really drop in a hurry as college coaches around the country are calling current Penn State commits with hopes of changing their minds before the February signing date.

Many of these elite recruits committed long before the devastating NCAA news came in, and most are now listening to other top programs.
