PROFILE
QUESTIONS
The following
are some frequently asked questions we get from players, parents and
coaches about our recruiting profiles. However, if you have a question
that is not answered here feel free to e-mail us at greg@gregswaim.com
with your questions.
Q: What good does the online recruiting profile do?
A: Over the years we have discovered by helping literally thousands of
young players in the recruiting process that the "basketball
resume" is a very useful tool in getting the word out. Players,
parents and coaches often don't know what to put on the resume (and what
not to put on) and then they often don't know how to get the information
to the coaches, not to mention the expense of postage and printing. The
online recruiting service allows you to insure that your information is on
the place where college coaches pay to find information on recruits and
you can also update it often.
Q: Why is this better than some other online services?
A: While there certainly are other websites doing something similar,
they don't have any college coaches on their website. Since hundreds of
college coaches take our service and hit our website daily, your page will
get seen here by the only people who matter...the one's that have
scholarships to give.
Q: Is everyone able to get a profile?
A: No. In fact, since our goal is always for 100% of the players who
register for this service to get a college scholarship, we will not take
on any players who we don't feel are college-level. This is crucial, as
since 1988 we have earned the respect of the hundreds of college coaches
from around the country who subscribe to our recruiting service. That
credibility did not come easy, and we do not want that to ever change.
Q: My stats have recently changed. Can I make changes?
A: Absolutely. With updates in stats, awards, academic and recruiting
information, we want you to update your page as often as you need. When
you subscribe we will setup your page and let you approve it before we put
it online and then you let us know whenever there are changes to
make...it's your page!!
Q: I am a sophomore in high school. How long should get the recruiting
service?
A: If you're a sophomore, it's right about time to begin the process.
Since it will be about two years until you make your college decision,
it's probably best (and more cost effective) to get the two-year plan, but
it's certainly up to you.
Q: I have offers from five Division I schools. Do you think I should take
the service?
A: Probably not, unless you don't like the five schools who've offered.
Also be sure to be careful that when you say you have offers that they are
actual offers. Sometimes coaches might say they want you, but when you
call them to commit they might put you off a while, which means that you
are probably behind another player on their list.
Q: I'm a high school freshman. Is it too early to get the service?
A: No matter what grade you are in this service can help you, unless
you already have solid scholarship offers. It's always good to get your
name out there early and then to update your information often for the
coaches to see. If you think that you are going to need more than two
years though, the best bet is the unlimited service and it'll save you
some money.
Q: What do I get besides the online page?
A: Unlimited updates and and online subscription to the GregSwaim.com
website for the length of your service to keep up with college recruiting
around the country.
