2009 SUMMER FINALE
The
14th annual BigTime Summer Finale in Oklahoma City on July 24-25, 2009 is for
girls and boys teams who have completed grades 3-12 (and now adult divisions as well) is
the ultimate end of a great summer of basketball for your team. Of course an event of this
magnitude also gives your squad the opportunity to be recognized for their accomplishments
on both the GregSwaim.com
website and Swaim's nationally syndicated Greg
Swaim Radio Show. Swaim is one
of only two voting member of both the men's and women's McDonald's All American
Committee and he evaluates the talent at each tournament, so obviously these
events are also a great way to be seen and evaluated by one of the top recruiting gurus in
the country.
This tournament has a three game
guarantee with two pool play games on day one and the single elimination tournament
beginning on day two. The champions get a team trophy, but we're about playing games and
good competition, so if you're a trophy hunter you may want to go somewhere else. Don't
delay your registration, as we are limited on the number of
teams we can take for each of our events and we often reach capacity in a short amount of
time.
RULES - Each game has two
eighteen (18) minute halves with a moving clock until the last minute of the first half
and the last minute of the game, unless one team has a 20-point lead or more. The
one-and-one is in effect after seven fouls in a half, with the double bonus taking effect
after ten fouls. Full court pressure is not allowed after
a team is leading by 20 or more and other standard high school rules apply. Boys in grades
3-6 and all girls grades will play with a 28.5 (women's size) inch ball, while boys in
grades 7-12 play with a 29.5 inch (men's size) ball and each team is responsible for
bringing their own practice basketballs and one game ball as well.
