So Tuesday has nearly passed without any schools leaving one P5 conference for another, despite a lot of talk that the Big 12 are not only talking to Utah, Colorado, Arizona State and Arizona, but that Oregon and Washington might also join in the move to the Big 12.

Why would Oregon and Washington consider the B12, when they’re supposedly talking to the Big Ten? Because it now appears that the B10 is not interested in adding more P12 teams, and if the B12 add the original four schools mentioned, there is no more P12. The conference was weak enough prior to USC and UCLA leaving, but now the conference is on its deathbed, and the life support could be shut off soon if these teams move.

Notre Dame appears to continue to value its independence, which would keep the Irish as is, playing in the ACC in other sports, and part time football in the ACC. Enter the SEC, who appears to be interested in poaching up to four ACC teams, with Clemson the crown jewel.

This afternoon and evening Colorado and Utah both made statements that say they’re committed or “tethered” in the Pac 12 to stay together, but their TV package comes out before the other conferences, and it won’t be pretty as losing the Los Angeles teams is a killer. The tether will likely be cut clean when they get the sticker shock being too low.
